Privacy Policy
glimpse is built so that what you release cannot be traced back to you. This page explains what that means in practice, what we hold, and what we do not.
Introduction
PT Nera Teknologi Utama (“glimpse”, “we”) is committed to protecting the privacy of the people who use it. glimpse is an anonymous space to release what you are carrying, in words, images, or voice, and to practise breathing when you need it.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, what it is used for, who it may be disclosed to, and how we protect it. It applies to the glimpse app on iOS and Android and to the glimpse website.
By using glimpse, you confirm that you have read and understood this policy.
What we collect
Contact data. An email address only, and only to create your account. It is stored encrypted.
What you create. The writing, photos, or voice recordings you release, and the mood check-ins you save. Each time you release something, you choose whether it stays private or goes to other people.
What we do not ask for. We do not ask for your real name, phone number, date of birth, gender, profile photo, contacts, or location.
How your data is used
Your personal data is used to:
- Create and manage your account. Your email address is used for this purpose only.
- Show what you release to other people anonymously, if you choose to share it.
- Keep your private entries so that you can return to them.
- Maintain the security, reliability, and quality of the service.
- Meet applicable legal obligations.
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with anyone for marketing purposes.
Who you are on glimpse
glimpse has no profiles in the usual sense. You do not choose a username, and there is nothing for anyone to follow or look up.
The identity shown beside what you release is generated by the system, not chosen by you, and it changes over time. It is therefore not a fixed handle that can be followed from one release to the next.
Your email address is never shown to other people and is never attached to anything you release.
What you release
Released to everyone. What you release is shown anonymously to other people. They can send one of three signals of presence, and nothing else. There are no comments and no direct messages, so no one can reply to you or contact you privately.
Marked Private. It is encrypted on your device before it is sent to us. We store it in that encrypted form and cannot read it. Neither can our team.
Disclosure of data
We do not disclose your email address to other people using glimpse, under any circumstances.
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or restructuring, data may pass to the receiving entity under equivalent protection obligations, and you will be told before that takes effect.
How it is protected
We apply technical and organisational measures to protect personal data from unauthorised access, use, or disclosure. These include encrypting your email address at rest, encrypting Private releases on the device, and limiting internal access on a need-to-know basis.
Even so, no digital system is entirely free of risk, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Keeping and deleting data
You can delete anything you have released, at any time. Deletion is permanent: the release is removed from other people's feeds as well as your own, and we do not keep a copy.
Your rights as a data subject
You have the right to access your personal data, correct inaccurate data, request its deletion, withdraw consent to processing for a particular purpose, and object to or complain about the processing of your personal data.
For content you have released, you can exercise the right to deletion yourself, directly inside the app.
Cookies and tracking
The glimpse website currently sets no cookies and loads no third-party trackers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If a change affects what we collect or how it is handled, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect, rather than quietly updating this page.
